Taking time out...

to enjoy the world around us that we tend to take for granted. Spring is the time when many things on earth are blessed with new life. These birds were born this last week in my backyard gutters. There were at least two others that got the courage to fly to the fence as I approached. As I posted this blog entry this morning, I realized that new birth also means survival. I sadly discovered that during the night something had destroyed the nest as I found it on the ground;however, it appears that the birds made it to safety.

Welcome Back Erica...

Today I had a photo session for a school assignment and shot my daughter and her friend Erica. After the session I shot Erica by her self just for practice.

Bucket List...

well let's scratch off hiking. That's right I went on a photography nature hike!! Just one more item I can add to the list for the "New Me". It's fabulous being over 40 - you youngsters better put on your tennis shoes (sorry - hiking shoes) and catch up! Don't worry Destini - I wasn't alone this time, I had company (Tori and Brooke).

Miss Cooley

5 things you may not know about me...

1 - In the second grade I was stung on my tongue by a bee

2 - When I was six years old I had ghost spray that I took everywhere

3 - As a baby I rubbed my hair when I got sleepy and I still do today

4 - I once broke my tooth in half getting out the swimming pool

5 - I fell to the ground in front of the entire school while going to lunch (how embarrassing)

For those of you that do not know Miss Cooley, she is my youngest daughter.

The New Dayton...

Dayton Ohio is attempting to improve the skyline. This image was shot from Deed's park at sunset, the sky is dark and cloudy as it has been raining all week. You can see the Wright brothers statue (see additional image below) in view. I was attempting to shoot the skyline as the sun was setting (and it was) however, the sun is setting to the right of the image ;~( Why couldn't it set right over the skyline?? Taken with a Nikon D300, 1/250s, F/8, ISO 200, 55mm

Taken with Nikon D300 at 1/250, F/8, ISO 200, 68mm

The Wright brothers statue in Deed's park overlooking the Dayton skyline. Did you know that the Wright brothers studied how birds soared in the wind. They observed how the air flowed over the curved surface of their wings to create lift. They used this information in the formation of their aircraft.
