Sexy Or Confident ...

How do you determine what sexy is? is it the outer being? The ability to excite others with ones physical beauty. Is it the color of ones eyes, the softness of their skin, the color and length of their hair, their body tone and language? Or is it the inner being? That thing called confidence - a feeling of self assurance, the state of being certain. A full trust and reliability in ones self. Having no uncertainty concerning ones ability to be successful. The ability to overcome any obstacle and determination to reach every goal. Total and unwavering belief in ones self, "This above all: To thine ownself be true." So the question becomes, what is sexy to you?

The After Shot

After working on another project for class, the model was kind enough to allow me to use him for practice. Over the next few days as usual, I will post a few of my favorite images. Enjoy!

O.K after much thought and careful consideration here are the two shots that I will turn in on Tuesday.

M.I.A

This is a shot from the documentary session a little over a week ago that wasn't posted with the others. In a documentary shot it's all about displaying as much of the clothes as possible. This shot is one that I will consider for the class project due on Tuesday November 25, 2008. Tomorrow I will post the two shots that I will turn in.

CFLP (Continued From Last Post)

Another image from the November 18 fashion editorial shoot. I love this picture mainly because of the expression of Brooke's face. With so many good shots my decision will not be an easy one. CYT (See You Tomorrow)

AITR (Adults In The Room)

Brooke: Well actually three at my fashion shoot ... one professional and two aspiring to be. LOL (laughing out loud) - OMG (oh my gosh) -No not aspiring adults, aspiring photographers.

Me: O.K so this is the second session of the studio shoot. Editorial Fashion is where the overall attitude of the image sells the clothes. I will post a few of the images that are under consideration for the project over the next few days, the last post will be the final two shots I will submit for the project.

Brooke: BB4N (bye bye for now)

Just For Fun...

Let's take a serious mother-daughter picture together, remember - serious so whatever you do don't smile ;~) This is the last of Saturday's shoot that I am going to post, but not to worry, Brooke has another session on today 11/18/08 so you will see more of her in the days to come. As for me, I am diving head first into a serious workout program (I will be temporarily under construction). I will post a progress image when I am a third of the way to my goal.

M.I.T Pt.2

I must say I enjoyed working with my daughter Brooke on this shoot. She makes my assignment easy because her poses are natural. I don't have to coach her in any way, I just stand there and shoot. Thanks Brooke!

Model In Training

My new assignment is to shoot studio documentary fashion where the shot sells the clothing. For this assignment my daughter happily volunteered. I will be posting a few images of our photo shoot over the next few days.

Bruised NOT Broken

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise.
I rise.
I rise.

Fountain Of Change

This stream appears simple enough, but for me after shooting this image on yesterday it became a significant part in a life changing experience for three reasons:

1) God spared me from what was sure to be very serious injuries as a result of a car accident, what I was left with I and HE can handle.
2) God revealed to me the definition of a TRUE relationship.
3) He whispered in my ear that HE will never be too busy to answer a cry for help or lend a shoulder for support.

Lesson learned from this: Stop and enjoy the blessings God has prepared for YOU. If you do not receive what you think you should have, either: (1) it is not for YOU, or (2) what is disguised as a blessing is just not worth having!!!

The Last Dance

So maybe I am in LOVE... with the beauty of these creatures, or the fact that the male is always at the females side (men please take note); however, a close friend of mine has advised me that it is time to move on. I hope you have enjoyed their beauty as much as I have.

Madison Park Mallards

I was out today at lunch trying to find something that I could shoot on the remainder of my lunch. I stumbled upon these Mallard Ducks at Madison Park.

United For Change

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals."

~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
